Third Day

Today will be our last day in Williams and then we are off to Boise, ID tomorrow. We are hoping to leave around 7am. It was a good day. Got to meet Cory's uncle Perry which was nice so now I've met most of  Bev's family! We shot an air rifle (or something like that) and I hit the Pepsi can (which was the target) on my second shot which was great for me and I refused to do anymore. Cory's grandpa played us a few songs and I recorded one of them with my phone so once I find the cord I need in the mess of our backseat I will post it. I'm sure you will all enjoy it. His family has been very welcoming and I'm glad I got to meet them all... it's a nice way to start out a massive road trip. I think tomorrow we will be on the road for 10ish hours... yikes... but it will get us closer to our destination. As far as the realization of how far away we are moving... I don't think it's quite hit me yet. Sometimes I can't believe it... and sometimes I feel like we are just on holiday getting ready to go back to Reno... but we're not. I'm glad we're doing this... I wouldn't want to do it with anyone else...

Alright here's a few photos from the day...

My baby shooting a gun...

Tyler looking like a badass after he knocked himself in the head...

Cory's grandpa singing us a song about a girl named Katie...

Okay goodnight!!!! Can't wait till tomorrow's post!

Second Day

Still in Williams. We are going to stay until Tuesday and then the road trip resumes... the itinerary was planned and I can't wait to write about it!

First Day

Reno to Williams, Oregon. 370 miles. Leaving Reno was quite difficult... mostly due to the size of the car and the amount of possessions. Thanks to Bev we were able to leave at a reasonable hour. The drive took us north to Oregon... first time I get to meet gramps... and Uncle Stan... While we knew that the car has no A/C the reality of this knowledge was not truly felt until about 3pm with the sun beating down only on Cory... and the true realization to the lack of A/C can be found in my B.O... yuck!
Goodbye Reno!!!!!

Out of Nevada

Looking at the valley...

Black Butte

Mount Shasta

After finally arriving at Cory's grandpa's house I'm ready for a shower and a bed. He got us a room at the Applegate River Lodge... and here is what greeted us in our room....

While I've provided no scale to the size of this particular beast I can attest to the fact that he/she was at least 4 inches long...

Alright... goodnight to you all!

ps

Right before Cory left... we got this gem of a picture.

we are sleeping in reno, nv for the last time...

the end...

is seemingly the beginning... i thought saying bye to wilma and all the amazing people i work with would be hard... not as nearly as devastating as holding my sister and best friend for the last time... she is my baby sister and her laugh makes me laugh... her smile makes me smile. veronica has been more a part of me than i have truely realized. saying goodbye was heart breaking... devestating... and revealing. my little sister is more in tune with life than i am... and i thank her for that. without her i wouldnt be me...

The day before...

I'm sitting at work... it's my final day and the day before we set off. It's the first time that I begin to slightly worry. I'm excited to see the United States... but worried. Will we find jobs? Will we have enough money? Are we doing the right thing?

What is going to happen?
